Despite it having no effect to the ICC or the International Criminal Court's decision, the Philippine Senate has approved a resolution on Wednesday (October 1) urging them to grant former President Rodrigo Duterte house arrest for "humanitarian considerations."
Fifteen senators voted in the affirmative, three said no, while two abstained.
Duterte is currently being detained at the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands due to "crimes against humanity" during his term's drug war.
