2 senators oppose TRO on P85 wage hike

Two senators are opposing the issuance of a temporary restraining order, or TRO, on the 85-peso minimum wage hike in Metro Manila. Senate Labor Committee Vice Chairman Raffy Tulfo questioned the legality of the TRO. Tulfo said any appeal against a wage order should have been brought before the National Wages and Productivity Commission instead of the courts. Senator Risa Hontiveros, for her part, called on the Labor Department and the Office of the Solicitor General to challenge the order.
