RE: BBM’s first PPP Project, the UP-PGH Cancer Hospital failed its first Bidding after not a single Private Company participated in it The first Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) Project of the Bong Bong Marcos (BBM) Administration, the University of the Philippines (UP)-Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Cancer Center Project, failed its first Bidding recently after no Private Company participated in the Bid. The Project was approved back in February 2023 by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) cost ₱6 billion and called for the Financing, Design, Engineering, Construction and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of a 300-bed Cancer Hospital with the UP-PGH Campus in Manila in 30-year Build-Transfer-Operate (BTO) Agreement. The Hospital will allocate half of its Beds to Charity while the other half will be for Private, Self-paying Patients. The failed Bidding means the construction and completion of the Project will now be delayed until a successful Bidding is made.
