SM Manila, City of Manila April 16, 2026 Reaffirming the Administration's commitment to addressing food security, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the distribution of the 'Biyayang Bigas para sa Maynila' program at SM Manila in the City of Manila on April 16, 2026. The program is implemented through the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), enabling direct allocation of funds to local government units (LGUs) to accelerate assistance delivery. As of April 16, the national government has released approximately Php15 billion, and about 80,000 beneficiaries in the City of Manila are set to receive 10 kilograms of rice six (6) times a year. In his remarks, President Marcos Jr. said the program is part of his Administration’s goal to eliminate hunger among Filipinos. He emphasized that food, particularly rice, remains a top priority for meeting the public's basic needs.
