Central Philippines hit by 6.9-magnitude earthquake

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 shook central Philippines on Tuesday night, sending people dashing out into streets, damaging a stone church and knocking out power in some areas. The earthquake was centred about 17km (10 miles) north-east of Bogo City in Cebu province.
