Insurance Claim Stories: Part 6 – She Almost Terminated Her VUL and This Happened | AIA Philippines

What could have happened if she terminated her insurance policy? In the last part of our Insurance Claim Stories series, fellow AIA Life Planner Gerald shares the story of a client who had been paying for her VUL policy for 6 years when financial difficulties made it hard for her to continue paying the premiums. She considered withdrawing her funds and terminating the policy, but she consulted Gerald first. After understanding her options, she temporarily stopped paying while policy charges continued to be deducted from the available account value, keeping the policy in force. More than a year later, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer. Because her policy was still in force, she was able to claim ₱500,000 in critical illness benefits. Her plan also included a waiver of premium benefit for critical illness, subject to the policy’s terms and conditions. This story reminds us why it’s important to understand our insurance before making major changes. VUL is life insurance with an investment component. Its primary purpose is protection—not simply investment returns. If you’re struggling to continue your premiums, thinking of terminating your policy, or simply haven’t reviewed your coverage in years, talk to your Life Planner first and understand your available options before deciding. 👍 Like, subscribe, and share this video with someone who may need this reminder. #InsuranceClaimStories #VULInsurance #CriticalIllnessInsurance #AIAPhilippines
