Mike Defensor denies asking Pepito Alvarez to endorse PBBM impeachment case

MIKE DEFENSOR DENIES ASKING PEPITO ALVAREZ TO ENDORSE PBBM IMPEACHMENT CASE Former Congressman Mike Defensor denied claims that he personally sought the support of former Speaker Pantaleon “Pepito” Alvarez for an impeachment case against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Speaking on #TheSpokes, Defensor said he appreciates Alvarez’s appearance before the committee, which he viewed as recognition of its legitimacy. However, he stressed that while he had reached out to some individuals regarding the impeachment effort, he never directly contacted Alvarez about endorsing it. Defensor argued that it would have been disrespectful to approach a politician of Alvarez’s stature through staff members alone, saying he would have personally called him if he intended to seek his support.
