North Luzon Expressway or NLEX has waived its toll. This was announced by Malacañang. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro says this is to ease the burden of motorists trapped in a traffic jam. Some areas along NLEX are submerged in floodwaters caused by persistent rains. Starting today, the toll will be free for vehicles coming from Pulilan, Bulacan to San Fernando, Pampanga, and vice versa. The Department of Transportation and the Toll Regulatory Board have ordered NLEX Corporation to provide food and drinks, and to set up portable toilets for motorists caught in heavy traffic.
