Senator-judge Robin Padilla questioned prosecution counsel Atty. Mae Divinagracia on the use of aliases by national heroes, comparing it to the aliases used by members of the New People’s Army (NPA).
Divinagracia said the use of aliases is not completely prohibited under the Anti-Alias Law as long as the person’s real name is disclosed but noted that the circumstances involving national heroes during wartime differ from the present situation. Padilla argued that there is no difference in the use of aliases then and now.
