Philippines has only around 700 psychiatrists

PHILIPPINES HAS ONLY AROUND 700 PSYCHIATRISTS Former Philippine Psychiatric Association President Dr. Joan Perez-Rifareal said there are only around 700 psychiatrists serving the entire country. She said the limited number of specialists makes collaboration with psychologists, guidance counselors, general practitioners, and barangay health workers crucial in addressing the country’s mental health needs.
